Chase Harrison, founder and independent insurance agent at The Harrison Agency in Charlotte, NC
Meet The Founder, Chase

We're not a call center.
We're your neighbor.

I grew up in a family of five with a father who built his own business, and I still play sports year-round and take on leadership roles when I can. All of it taught me the same thing: show up, do the work, earn it, one relationship at a time.

I opened The Harrison Agency because this industry had a gap. Call in with the biggest financial decision of your life, get a call center: a script, a case number, no personal touch. I built this agency to be different.

I run on the Goosehead platform, which lets me shop 140+ A-rated carriers instead of pushing one company's product. Everything past that, how we treat people, how we hire, how we show up, that's on me.

Last year I flagged a flood gap on a client's annual review, her backyard ran along a creek, and her previous agent never mentioned it in three years. That's the difference between a policy and someone actually paying attention.

01

You reach out

Call, text, or send us a message. We pick up the phone ourselves, no call center, no queue.
Real person, right away
02

We get on a call together

We learn about your home, your needs, what matters to you. Then we shop 140+ A-rated carriers live, right there on the phone.
We shop while we talk
03

You walk away covered

Home, auto, any personal line you carry, all handled by one agent and set up on the same call. Most clients are fully covered in about 35 minutes.
One agent, every policy
Why local matters

Rooted in NC, VA, SC, OH, MD & GA.
Here's what that means, block by block.

Coverage for a 1920s craftsman in Dilworth is different from what you need on a new build in Waverly, or a coastal property two states away, and an agent who doesn't know the difference isn't doing their job. Below is a real example, Charlotte, block by block, of the level of detail I bring to every client in every state I'm licensed, not just the ones down the street.

The Queen City
Where it started: Charlotte · Mecklenburg County, NC
After Hurricane Helene, 25% of NC homeowners' claims closed without payment — almost all flood damage that standard policies don't cover. I have this conversation with every client, wherever they're buying.
Affects homes near creeks in Cotswold, Belmont, lower-elevation areas
Charlotte construction costs are up 20%+ since 2021. Many policies written at closing won't cover what it costs to rebuild today. I check this at every annual review.
Common gap in Myers Park, Dilworth, older SouthPark homes
NC policies often carry named-storm deductibles of 1–5% of your home's value. On a $400K home that's up to $20K out of pocket before coverage starts. Most buyers are never told this at closing.
Reviewed on every policy I write
Homes in Plaza Midwood, NoDa, and Elizabeth carry service line risk from aging infrastructure — repairs standard policies don't cover, running $3–15K.

Coverage

What I look for that
most agents miss.

I review the full picture at every policy — not just what you came in asking about.

01

Backed by names you know

I shop your policy across 140+ A-rated carriers, including Progressive, GEICO, Travelers, Nationwide, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, and many more. Real companies, real financial strength, real claims-paying history.
You get the right fit, not just a familiar name.
02

Bundle and save

I compare your home and auto policies both separately and together to find the combination that delivers the best value—not just the lowest price.
Savings are often $500–800+/year. Worth the conversation.
03

Built for the worst case

Named storm deductibles and service line gaps both show up when something actually goes wrong, and both catch people off guard. I tailor both to your home and your risk, so you know exactly what you're covered for before a catastrophe, not after.
I explain this before you sign. Every time.
04

Actual rebuild cost

Your dwelling coverage may not match what it costs to rebuild today. Charlotte construction costs jumped 20%+ since 2021.
Common gap in homes insured before 2023.
05

Flood coverage

Standard policies exclude flood entirely. After Helene, that mattered for thousands of NC families. FEMA maps don't capture inland rainfall risk — I do a site-specific check for every home.
Missed by most agents. Reviewed by me at every policy.
06

Umbrella protection

Our state's median home equity is over $400K. One serious accident can wipe it out. A $1M umbrella runs $300–500 a year. Most clients with equity don't have one.
Most clients are surprised by how affordable this is.

For referral partners

When you send someone,
here's what happens.

We have 80+ active referral partners across the states we serve. We didn't build that network by asking for introductions. We built it by making the insurance part disappear so your deal doesn't slip.

We keep things simple, quick, and efficient, with the best service we can give, so clients keep coming back and you look even better for having sent them our way.

Client contacted within 2 hours. Binder and RCE sent same day. You hear it's done, or get an update, without chasing us for it.

There's no set annual review. We pick up the phone any time your client needs to talk through their coverage, so they stay protected year over year and you're remembered as the person who connected them with someone who actually followed through.

Common questions

Straight answers about
insurance in Charlotte.

What is The Harrison Agency?

The Harrison Agency is an independent insurance agency in Charlotte, North Carolina, founded by agent Chase Harrison. It operates on the Goosehead Insurance platform from 521 E. Morehead St, Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28202, and helps families with home, auto, flood, umbrella and other personal insurance.

What is the difference between an independent insurance agent and a captive agent?

A captive agent sells one insurance company's policies. As an independent agent, Chase Harrison compares 140+ A-rated carriers, including Progressive, GEICO, Travelers, Nationwide, Allstate and Liberty Mutual, and recommends the best fit for your home, your risk and your budget.

What types of insurance does The Harrison Agency offer?

Homeowners insurance, auto insurance, home and auto bundles, flood insurance, personal umbrella policies, and any other personal line you carry. One agent handles every policy, usually on a single call.

Which states is The Harrison Agency licensed in?

The agency is based in Charlotte, NC and primarily serves North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio, Maryland and Georgia. It is licensed in up to 10 states in total, which also include Tennessee, Florida, Colorado and Wisconsin.

Does homeowners insurance in North Carolina cover flood damage?

No. Standard homeowners policies exclude flood entirely. After Hurricane Helene, about 25% of NC homeowners' claims closed without payment, almost all of them flood damage. FEMA flood maps don't capture inland rainfall risk, so The Harrison Agency does a site-specific flood check for every home, including homes near creeks in areas like Cotswold and Belmont.

What is a named-storm deductible in North Carolina?

Many NC homeowners policies carry a separate named-storm (hurricane) deductible of 1–5% of the home's insured value instead of a flat dollar amount. On a $400,000 home, that can mean up to $20,000 out of pocket before coverage starts. The Harrison Agency reviews this deductible on every policy it writes.

Is my Charlotte home insured for enough to rebuild?

Possibly not. Charlotte construction costs have risen more than 20% since 2021, so dwelling coverage set at closing may fall short of today's rebuild cost. This is a common gap in homes insured before 2023 and is checked at every review.

How much does a personal umbrella policy cost?

A $1 million personal umbrella policy typically costs about $300–500 per year. It adds liability protection above your home and auto policies, which matters for anyone with significant home equity.

How long does it take to get an insurance quote?

Most clients are fully covered in about 35 minutes. Chase shops carriers live on the call; there are no forms first and no call center. New inquiries get a response within 2 hours.
